Benchmark
To get the best results, we need a physical benchmark product. There must be a physical benchmark product so that both you and the manufacturer can all agree on the important aspects of the formulation, such as texture, thickness, scent.
Product Brief
A product brief is a document that contains all the information about the product you want to create. A clear product brief allows for quick communication with the manufacturer, so you must write a detailed product brief. The request should include essential information such as product name, main concept (ingredients and benefits), desired target cost, product quantity, product format/formulation, functional attributes, desired claim. Manufacturers
Selecting and communicating with manufacturers and comparing samples can be difficult. Crescent Seoul selects the best manufacturers in Korea tailored to the product you are developing. Also, Crescent Seoul has existing business with them, we know the prices well and can get competitive prices.
Packaging
Specification
Packaging specification must also be decided before product production. You must decide not only the product formulation but also how you will receive the finished goods. How will you pack it? Should you pack it one box at a time or bundle it into four? Will they be individually wrapped? How to label the box? All the information needs to be contained as a document “packaging spec”. Crescent Seoul can also help with that.
Testing
Once the formulation and the packaging is finalized, then the manufacturer performs various tests to control quality. It includes stability testing, compatibility testing, microbial testing, challenge testing. Among them, compatibility test ,usually called CT, is a process which checks whether the packaging and formulation match each other and whether there are no other issues such as leaking, or the packaging and formulation react with each other result in melting.

How much will it cost?
Typically, our aim is to achieve a cost of under $3 for a skincare product with a minimum quantity of 3000pcs. This cost estimate encompasses formulation, packaging, and boxes. Nevertheless, it's important to note that the final price may vary based on factors such as preservatives, fragrances, concept ingredients, and so on. This is why we need specific product briefs to get exact quotes.
Can I get ready-made formulas?
In short, yes you can. However, we are unable to keep a catalog of all the products available. One manufacturer in our network develops more than 50k formulations as year and it is very hard for us to keep all of them updated. Rather, we ask you to write a product brief so that we can better undertand your needs and find what you are looking for.
What type of packaging options do I get?
We have access to more than 50+ packaging factories, most of whom supply their products to top beauty brands worldwide. Once you submit a product brief, we will come up with packaging catalogs that fit your brand and formulation.
What is the Minimum Order Quantity?
Our MOQ starts from 3000pcs, and it varies with the product type. The reason for the high MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) is primarily due to our utilization of machinery in cosmetics production. These machines require a certain minimum quantity of product to operate effectively.
Is there regulations that I have to be aware of?
In essence, we handle all the regulatory aspects. All you need to do is request the necessary documents.
